Reports to: ESY Coordinators
Dates: Preparation Day: July 6th 2026
July 7-August 7th 2026
Times: 8:15-12:15 Monday-Thursday
Salary range: $25.00/Hour
General Description:
The Comprehensive Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding Instructional Assistant to support students with disabilities in accessing their education for the Extended School Year Summer your letter of interest please indicate which level/program you prefer. We have availability in the Connections ISP and Learning Support programs.
Responsibilities:
- Teach groupings of special education students in grades K-12
- Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons
- Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons
- Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations
- Teach age-related social skills and functional behavior
- Teaching is focused on the prevention of skill regression
- Progress monitoring and reporting
Qualifications Required:
- Flexibility with respect to age groups assignments
- Ability to follow through with directions
- Experience working with students at the elementary level who have significant learning and social/emotional needs
- Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and an understanding of functions of behaviors
- Ability to take initiative to complete tasks and to assist students with de-escalation techniques and executive functioning skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team
Preferred:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
