As a dynamic IT leader of Database Management in Honeywell you will have opportunity to manage the large footprint of various database technologies including ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) database replication technologies such as HVR/Fivetran manage EDW platform like Snowflake andmake a difference by establishing a solid foundation for innovation performance reliability and scalability working on on-prem and public cloud solutions leveraging multiple database technologies. Additionally you will focus on Database Engineering and lead the solutioning and architecture.
You will lead the database development architecture operations and database administration teams that are responsible for setting the database strategy and delivering a scalable and reliable data platform that supports Honeywells Digital Platform and Applications. Additionally you will also provide leadership for the design and implementation of databases in global high availability and high-performance environments. You will own the database models across all ERP applications design new solutions at the cutting edge of distributed database technology and will deliver large scale systems that will have an impact on revenue growth.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Lead adoption of strategic platforms for Database - on-premise and Cloud Infrastructure
- Lead adoption of strategic platforms for Database Replication technologies on-premise and cloud
- Lead adoption of strategic platforms for SAP Oracle database management and support move to cloud
- Collaborate on Database Automation activities to improve process efficiency and risk compliance
- Drive Stability initiatives by proactively reviewing and addressing Database/datawarehouse performance and capacity trends
- Lead & mentor a team of 8-12 employees of Database administrators Data Replication admins Architects to deliver Solutions to Business clients based on their requirements and work closely with offshore leadership team on daily basis.
- Stay focused aggressive very active lead by example and take DBA/Admin team to next level
- Implement High Availability database solutions in Oracle MSSQL MySQL Mongo DB PostgreSQL as well technology resilience for HVR/Fivetran/Snowflake.
- Lead and manage high severity database/data replication/EDW issues impacting revenue applications working cross functionally across leads of infrastructure network and application teams
- Ensure centralized 24x7 Monitoring and Auditing Tools in place and effective in operation
- Create fully reliable CMDB inventory connecting information of database along with all associated assets
- Review consistently on the usage of all assets inventory on-going basis and work on consolidation migration and deletion of assets associated and ensure savings to IT spend
- Make sure to delete the vendor unsupported environments and stay in compliance to protect data and systems from any vulnerability
- Manage Oracle ERP administrators managing various ERP applications its ecosystems and databases.
- Effective governance of third-party vendor both onshore and offshore
- Engage completely into full lifecycle of Database environment (Plan Build Run)
- Risk and Control oversight of DB environment ensuring engagement with DB Security and Engineering teams
- Provide guidance to Operational Database Support teams to troubleshoot and investigate Business impacting performance issues on need basis.
- Lead evaluate provide resources and drive a team towards realistic goals
- Apply technical expertise to strategize for current/future technological developments and serve as point of contact for technical questions
- Apply knowledge of concepts and procedures to resolve issues
- Create and maintain processes and documentation for various database activities including architecture user access user termination DB creation DB migration DB security Service Now knowledge etc.
- Responsible for delivery of end results and resource planning; shares responsibility for budget management
- Contribute to formulation of strategies for infrastructure technologies functional areas across various business sectors
- Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements evaluate controls to help mitigate negative outcomes through prevention detection and correction
- Persuades and influences others through communication skills; may negotiate with external parties
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Honeywell its clients and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws rules and regulations adhering to Policy applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior conduct and business practices and escalating managing.
- Ensure regular motivation / guidance to the team by setting up 1-1 bits and bytes sessions on technology trends create opportunities for career growth and train the resources across various technologies
- Support & enforce compliance for multiple Database specific audits like SOX PCI GDPR etc.
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE
- Masters degree in computer science related or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in database management and people leadership to include:
- Direct experience leading database administration teams
- Technical leadership in design implementation and support of the core database services
- Leadership in driving large projects for M&A Infra/DB modernization including budget management
- Solid hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of database technology such as Oracle Exadata ExaCC Azure Oracle OCI GCP and AWS.
- Must Green Card / US Citizen
