The Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef the Head Chef works independently with the support of the management team.
The role will oversee and ensure the smooth running of cafe and event operations including
- Kitchen Administration
- Food and Labour costs and controls
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Workplace Health and hygiene
- Staff management and recruitment
- Food production for both the Café and all event functions
- Producing a range of corporate catering which are picked up from the site and dropped to the client
- Maintain and develop a loyal team through effective communication and inspirational leadership
Essentials
- Qualifications in Cookery Diploma level preferred
- Minimum of three years in a leadership role ideally from a hotel background
- Enjoy working in a hands on busy environment including events and a true passion for cooking
- A keen eye for detail and a positive and proactive approach
- Great communication skills
- Strong and detailed business acumen for kitchen operations
- Proven ability to lead by example and foster a creative and organised environment where team members take pride in their work
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to plan for the future
- Motivated with a drive to challenge yourself daily and deliver the very best
- Adhere to WHS standards training your staff to do the same
