Shift: 8:30a-5p Sunday through Thursday weekly.
Description
- Responsible for maintaining sufficient levels of medications to meet the supply demands of all patient care areas ambulatory clinics and the pharmacy storage area under the direction of Assistant Director for Pharmacy Procurement or Pharmacy Director Reviews current inventory levels of all products orders drug-related products reconciles and maintains records of all pharmaceuticals received.
- Assists in assigning and updating inventory par levels based upon purchase history and usage.
- Reports all drug shortages temporarily out-of-stock items and difficult-to-purchase items to Drug Shortage Team.
- Performs cost transfers to ambulatory clinics and other accounts as applicable.
- Interacts with vendors to secure cost effective high quality products and services. Coordinates the return and/or disposal of surplus and/or expired inventory.
- Reviews requests for products and services to ensure accuracy completeness authorized signatures and compliance with relevant policies.
- Recommends measures to improve the quality or delivery of service to customers and/or to reduce costs associated with the procurement.
- Maintains required documentation for compliance with internal policies procedures SOPs as well as state and federal rules and regulations.
- Performs related responsibilities as required and completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Two years of college or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Two years of pharmacy purchasing or related experience or three years of experience in hospital pharmacy setting.
- Positions within this classification may require previous hospital pharmacy purchasing experience.
- Must maintain registration as a pharmacy technician with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
- CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a hourly position.
- Typically work 40 hours a week including after hours weekend and holiday coverage as necessary.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours or per discretion of Assistant Director for Pharmacy Procurement or Pharmacy Director.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers typing reading writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required.
