JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the discipline specific technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event including the handling and operation of high-risk pyro and pyrotechnic systems. Ensures technical show quality and a positive guest experience by applying intermediate level knowledge of pyro elements. Ensure proper completion of tasks and all UO and NFPA policies procedures and regulations are followed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the daily operation of the pyrotechnic elements within the assigned entertainment venue and/or event. This includes the handling of explosive material and acting as a fire watch.
- Responsible for the careful loading of pyrotechnics to preserve show quality. Maintaining the proper load layout as directed by venue training and show direction.
- Responsible for completing pyro load and post-show cleanup resets. Ensure that all pyro waste is disposed of properly and document any issues with pyro product.
- Assist with the appropriate maintenance and inventory of venue equipment/supplies as assigned for proper operation organization and cleanliness. Notify appropriate leadership of any materials needed and any repairs needed beyond basic maintenance of the venue/show.
- Troubleshoot and identify technical issues and when to escalate to the appropriate maintenance team and Management.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Technical school: is preferred.
- Associate degree (AA): is preferred.
- Bachelors degree: is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years experience using technical control systems likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred.
- Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Intermediate knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.
- Basic computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suite.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Florida Driver License.
