About this Position
The Data Analyst will assist with data collection and reporting for OSU Community Wellness Programs The Center for Prevention Research Implementation Science and Measurement (PRISM) located in Payne County. The Data Analyst must be able to work independently and within a team environment. The Data Analyst will investigate patterns and causes of substance use/misuse and other public health challenges in the geographic catchment area. The Data Analyst will study how substance misuse and other public health concerns impacts various communities utilizing relative information to aid in the prevention of substance misuse and to provide technical assistance for evidence-based strategy implementation. Develop assessment surveys and tools conduct research provide evaluation services disseminate findings to key stakeholders including the university and the coalition. Must be able to apply advanced reasoning skills to problem solving and use basic and advanced mathematical skills; and demonstrate professional knowledge of epidemiology research methods. Must be able to design/collect/retrieve epidemiological data and perform statistical data analysis for the Program Coordinator and community partners; advise them of implications of the data for public health policy; and determine outcomes in order to ensure that established program standards are met. Submit all required reports and data through the reporting system. The Data Analyst exhibits effectiveness in developing and conforming to policies and procedures; supports organizational commitments and goals completes tasks in line with established budgets and schedules. Maintains complete accurate and current records. Submits all required reports in a timely and efficient manner. All other duties as is a grant funded position and is based on receiving continued SAMHSA grant funds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors
Bachelors degree in business analytics health informatics epidemiology and biostats or related field conferred prior to start date.
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Two years of relevant professional experience. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of experience.
- Certifications Registrations and/or Licenses:
Valid Drivers license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge: Skills in programs implementing environmental prevention strategies management evaluation grant writing report writing as well as oral and written communication. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of psychological/psychosocial theory both individual and community models cultural sensitivity computers and software.
