Job Summary

Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as an Operations Manager Fabrication in our York PA location. This role manages and coordinate activities of the York Fabrication department engaged in cutting machining and punch press activities for aluminum products.Youllwork alongside other departments to ensure the highestqualityhighest margin products are manufactured in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzescustomer demand and backlog in connection with extrusion todeterminewhat materials and when needed
  • Assistsin quoting new business opportunitiestodetermineinformation such as material to be used type of operations and sequence of operations
  • Prepares requisitions for tooling fixtures and operational supplies
  • Partners withMaintenance Manageron escalatedmachinemalfunction and repairs
  • Ensures quality standards are met and provide problem solve issues
  • Oversees saw operations machining cells and other value-added processes in relation to operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Must be familiar with 6S projects andutilizationof other Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Assistsin the investigation of customer complaints and qualitynon conformancesin the process
  • Utilizes effective problem-solving techniques toeliminateproblems
  • Adheres to standard work practices andcoachesteam to meet production schedules
  • Uses production schedules to evaluate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.Verifies performance throughout shiftrelativeto expected rate
  • Reviewsmodifies and updates production schedules daily based on customer inquiries collaboration with leadership and sales and availability of material
  • Works with ERP system to determine capacity requirements and work with customer serviceensureaccurate customer delivery acknowledgements. Offers resolution of improvementin an effort totransform information into a more sophisticated ERP
  • Coordinates with Shipping Coordinatorregardingload completions and carrier pickups
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product
  • Works with outside processors to manage the production and quality of those processors to meet the customer demands and requirements
  • Activelyparticipatesin safety training ensuring compliance to Pennex and OSHA regulations
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product and suggests changes in use of equipment to increase efficiency
  • Assistsin preparing annual operational budget ensuring accuracy whileestablishingrequired resources and planning necessary to achieve sales and profitability targets
  • Develops subordinates increases overall performance and enhances future growth
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures designed toeliminateoperating and maintenance issues while improving product quality
  • Assistsin developing and implementing operating methods to improve quality production along with internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Reviews production costs and product quality andmodifiesproduction and inventory control programs tomaintainand enhance profitable operation of business
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree from accredited college or universitypreferred
  • High School Diploma with advanced training or equivalent combination of education and experienceis required

Experience and Skills

  • Five or more years of experience in leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Technical/ machiningbackground:metalsfabrication experience(ie: Punch drill CNC Machine Sawing etc.)
  • ERP experience: Epics or Microsoft Dynamics365 preferred
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Precisionmeasurement experience
  • A thorough understanding of the fabrication process
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated self-driven and eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectivelydisseminateinformation in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required
