Oxbow High School is seeking a versatile and creative Music Teacher for grades 7-12. This position includes band chorus guitar 7th grade general music and high school electives. Oxbow is a small rural school in a supportive community that values the Arts. There is a strong Modern Band component in the local elementary school and at the state level and guitar classes and electives build on those models. Primary Responsibilities:Teach instrumental and choral ensembles at the middle and high school levelsProvide instruction in guitar and other electivesPlan rehearse and conduct concerts and performances throughout the school yearDevelop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standardsAssess student progress and provide meaningful feedbackFoster a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and musical growthCollaborate with colleagues and participate in school and district eventsMaintain classroom rehearsal spaces and equipment/materialsPrepare students for higher level experiences such as District and All State auditions and festivals or college with District IV and VMEA including meetings and music festivals.
