What Youll Do
This role will interface directly with specialized capabilities such as Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Engineering Supplier Quality Software Quality and Supply Chain Management as well as directly interface with both Y-12 Engineering.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Provides engineering evaluations/reviews of procurement documentation including Commercial Grade Dedication plans Engineering Procurement Documents (EPDs) Purchase Requisitions Purchase orders item equivalency evaluations and material analysis where appropriate
- Ensures procured materials and services are consistent with applicable Design and Safety Basis requirements by reviewing/evaluating EPDs and consulting with Facility/Project Engineers to ensure that like-for-like replacements are appropriately specified
- Conduct procurement support activities including strategic sourcing initiatives and evaluations reviewing and composing requisitions evaluation of suppliers and monitoring supplier performance
- Ensure that CGD acceptance plans are executable well-aligned to available resources and effectively evaluate that deliverables conform to contract requirements
- Perform responsibilities with supervisor oversight

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering/physical science discipline from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico the Washington Accord or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET.
- The minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement up to 4 years post-graduation at time of offer and confirmed by transcript. Beyond four years from graduation engineering experience will supersede GPA as a requirement for hire.
- Bachelors degree in engineering/physical science disciplinewith a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
- Masters degreein engineering/physical science disciplinewith a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA
- PhD in engineering/physical science discipline with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
- In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref.
