Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer (Process Engineer) to join our A320 Engineering Department based in Mobile AL.

This position will be responsible for translating the design intent into the compilation and controlling the technical instructions for product manufacturing while also providing support to the shop floor. It will also be responsible for the integrated Manufacturing Dossier covering all means needed for shop floor execution: engineering technical information quality control measurement tasks components / parts jigs & tools maintenance tasks health & safety.

Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015 the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

Standardized Work (the best way to perform tasks described in the SOI- the How): 50%

• Drive implementation of 1st installation with required shop floor feedback loops.

• Create / update / prioritize routings / BOM / SOI taking into account shop floor needs time calculation and work preparation golden rules in accordance with applicable Airbus processes.

• Specify industrial assets (Jigs Tools Tooling Machines) requirements for creation or modification.

Continuous Improvement: 30%

• Identify and implement process improvements in order to reduce cost or mitigate risks to the product or people.

• Regularly incorporate feedback from the Production team.

Product Development Projects: 20%

• Manage project deliverables related to their own work package attend meetings and pass information to other team members.

• Upstream: contribute to product concept in design phase (before MG3) to ensure industrial needs are taken into account.

• Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.

Your boarding pass:

• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Electrical Aerospace or Industrial Engineering

• Recent graduate with Bachelors degree or Non-degree holder with 3 years of Airbus experience or 5 years of industry experience.

• 3 or more years of experience interpreting engineering drawings.

• Excellent MS Office/Google Suite application as well as experience in analyzing data.

• High degree of flexibility and initiative.

• Required: Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Travel Required: <5% Domestic and International.

• Possess the motivation to learn.

• Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.

• Able to work with the metric system.

• Able to read and interpret technical standards.

• Knowledge of the principles practices methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

• Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.

• Ability to work in a team environment cross-functional team environment as well as independently and with customers and channels.

• Have the ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with all internal customers.

• Have the ability to work in an international team.

• Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.

• Must be able to present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and management.

• Preferred: Fluency in German or French.

• Required knowledge in Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Airbus Industries electrical processes & methods.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools (TiCon Zamiz TAKSY DOcMaster).

• Preferred: Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM).
