ChristianaCares Medical Group is looking to hire aFull-Time Office AssistantII to support our Pulmonary Practice located in Newark DE at Map I.

The Office Assistant II isthe first point of contact between the practice and the patient and is responsible for creating a friendly welcoming calm and efficient environment for the practice. The Office Assistant II serves patients with poise and compassion virtually or on-site fields phone calls answers patient questions schedules new and follow-up appointments registers patients and updates records and represents the entire practice every time there is interaction with a addition the Medical Office Assistant II assists with the training of Medical Office Assistant staff and provides guidance with workflow questions.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • No weekends/holidays

  • May rotate to other practices as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the training of Medical Office Assistant Staff

  • Subject Matter Expert on Medical Office Assistant operations/procedures/processes

  • Point of contact for Medical Office Assistant regarding questions concerns and guidance with Medical Office Assistant operations procedures and processes

  • Schedules appointments with awareness of insurance provider and location for virtual and on-site appointments

  • Greet and interact with patients in a professional manner virtually or on-site in order to collect required demographic and financial information. Processes/verifies referral information and eligibility for insurance reimbursement as needed.

  • Collects payments according to insurance requirements

  • Verifies insurance coverage & coordinates referrals

  • Performs day end reconciliation of appointments & payments received

  • Answers all phone calls in a professional manner and relay accurate messages

  • Alerts providers of messages and responds to messages from provider(s)

  • Communicates with provider and staff through EMR

  • Keeps patients up-to-date on issues until resolution can be accomplished

  • Facilitate testing labs appointments etc for patients

  • Prepares medical records to include scanning and indexing tests reports etc into patient charts as needed

  • Responsible for researching issues and responding to the patient in a timely and professional manner

  • Assists with copying faxing and general administrative support

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.

  • 2 years experience in a medical office practice setting is required; 3 years experience is preferred

Hourly Pay Range: $18.19 - $26.37

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
