Job Summary
Are you an experienced Purchasing Officer with a background in mining or heavy industry Were looking for a proactive and detail-driven professional to manage end-to-end purchasing of mining parts services and consumables across multiple mine sites throughout Australia.
This is a fast-paced high-impact role where your ability to source efficiently expedite effectively and keep operations moving will directly support site performance.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the full procure-to-pay process ensuring critical parts and services are sourced ordered and delivered to site on time. Working closely with vendors freight providers and internal stakeholders youll play a key role in maintaining operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Source parts and services in line with company policy and preferred suppliers
- Generate purchase orders and manage follow-ups
- Proactively manage vendor purchase orders including back orders and overdue items
- Expedite parts to ensure on-time delivery to site
- Book couriers and freight providers to meet delivery deadlines
- Perform regular expediting and dispatch follow-ups
- Coordinate and resolve invoice queries with internal teams
About You
- Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing role
- Experience purchasing mining mechanical or heavy equipment parts (highly regarded)
- Experience using large ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle JDE)
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
