Job Summary
Job Description Edifecs Developer
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Edifecs Developer to design develop and support healthcare EDI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Edifecs tools and a solid understanding of healthcare EDI transactions and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain EDI mappings using Edifecs SpecBuilder and MapBuilder
- Work on healthcare EDI transactions such as 837 (P/I/D) 835 270/271 276/277 277CA 834 820 PACDR
- Develop and manage Guidelines Profiles and Protocols
- Configure and support Edifecs EAM / XEngine for batch and real-time processing
- Perform EDI validation error handling and troubleshooting
- Work closely with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand requirements
- Support production issues root cause analysis and defect fixes
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA X12 5010 and other regulatory standards
- Participate in testing deployment and post-production support activities
- Document technical designs and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4 years of hands-on experience with Edifecs tools
- Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards (X12 HIPAA)
- Experience with SpecBuilder MapBuilder XEngine
- Hands-on experience in EDI validations acknowledgments (999 277CA)
- Experience with batch processing and real-time EDI flows
- Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims eligibility payments)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills
Good to Have
- Experience with Edifecs EAM Encounter Management
- Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
- Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
- Experience with production support and on-call rotations
- Understanding of payer/provider workflows
Education
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field
