Job Summary

Your role at St John of God Ballarat

We are seeking applications for a Clinical Midwife Educator to join our Learning and Development team at Ballarat on a permanent part-time basis.

Our Clinical Educators play a critical role in the professional development of all caregivers at their hospital/service working collaboratively with the Learning and Development Coordinator department managers and caregivers.

The role is responsible for the delivery implementation assessment and evaluation of Learning and Development programs (including Graduate Programs) and activities that reflect best practice standards to achieve excellence in service.

The Position

  • Support and provide guidance to caregivers (including graduates) to meet individual learning and development goals and achieve departmental objectives

  • In collaboration with the caregivers manager support them to address learning gaps and meet performance development goals and plans.

  • Collaborates with Department Managers other learning and development caregivers and relevant key stakeholders to support learning and development activities locally.

  • Supports an interprofessional approach to the delivery assessment and evaluation of learning for all caregivers promoting a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment.

  • In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator and other key stakeholders support the planning onboarding delivery and evaluation of the Pathways to Practice Graduate Programs and Pathway to Speciality Programs.

  • In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator support the planning and supervision of student placements and support evaluation activities (undergraduate and postgraduate) as directed.

As a registered Midwife with AHPRA you will bring a strong foundation of professional knowledge and clinical capability to this role. Your commitment to excellence is demonstrated through ongoing participation in professional development supported by a current CPD record or Professional Practice Portfolio.

With a solid understanding of adult learning principles we are looking for someone that can design and deliver education that is relevant engaging and effective. Your strong time management and organisational abilities will support you in coordinating learning activities and meeting the demands of a dynamic clinical environment.

Successful applicants must hold a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $123300 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% Superannuation

  • Permanent part-time working 15.2 hours per week
