The Communications & Development Associate supports agency fundraising and community engagement through the performance of a variety of communications fundraising and administrative tasks. This position supports communications to a wide range of stakeholders including donors staff clients volunteers vendors supporters and other members of the public and holds primary responsibility for drafting fundraising appeal letters thank you letters and other assigned fundraising communications. This position provides support for the publics initial contact with the agency via walk-in and email communication. Additionally this role regularly assists the Executive Director and other members of senior leadership with administrative duties and projects as requested
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday Friday 8:00am 4:30pm schedule
The desired combination of education and relevant experience for this position includes previous experience in a fundraising or communications role and an associate or bachelors degree with customer service experience; however candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge skills and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered.
An understanding of homelessness and poverty and a commitment to the agencys mission are required. The successful candidate will also possess highly developed computer skills including Microsoft Office products; excellent customer service skills; excellent writing and verbal communication skills; strong organization and time management skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
