Job Summary

This position serves as the initial contact for institutional financial aid inquiries including emails phone calls and front desk reception. Duties include counseling advising and directing inquiries for applicants and recipients of student financial aid. Financial Aid Representatives are responsible for understanding and maintaining an extensive understanding of financial aid programs processes requirements and policies. This position provides assistance with receiving and preparing forms and documentation necessary for processing aid. Responsibilities also include assistance with administrative work and computer data entry. This position also represents the office at on and off-campus events.

$17.03 - $22.13 per hour

Required Qualifications

1. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:

A. College coursework in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associates Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelors Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Work experience performing office business or customer/relations activities.

Work Hours

8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends required.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
3. Move about campus in various locations to complete day-to-day work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
