ThePharmacist Extenderunder minimal supervision assists the pharmacist in caring for patients by providing point of care services as assigned. Activities include assisting with a patients medication management and obtaining and organizing information such as patient demographics medication histories and information needed for therapeutic drug monitoring. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications by providing the pharmacist with accurate and timely information necessary to make informed clinical recommendations. Participates in performance improvement activities to increase the scope and quality of pharmacy services. Performs the duties of a pharmacy technician as required.
- Review and investigate Anesthesia discrepancies using the Pyxis All-Transaction Report and the Epic CS Discrepancy Report (Anesthesia Discrepancy Report).
- Perform reconciliation of CS returns and waste from the Perioperative Areas.
- Investigate the Pyxis MedStation vs CIISafe Compare Report and Pyxis Outdate report.
- Dispose of returned waste via controlled substance disposal unit and ensure appropriate documentation of disposal.
- Facilitate and document the testing of waste returns via Codonics WasteLog product.
- Submit and investigate HERO reports on any discrepancies found in consultation with Controlled Substances Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and/or Operations Manager (e.g. missing waste waste products identified as mismatch as identified by the Codonics WasteLog product).
- Assist with investigation and resolution of controlled substance Pyxis discrepancies.
- Audit reconciled controlled substance Pyxis discrepancies. Support the Controlled Substance Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Operations Manager with controlled substance inventory management in Pyxis (e.g. Load/unloads stockouts etc.).
- Assist with activities and coverage for OR Return Bin and Controlled Substance Operations as needed
- Collaborate with the Controlled Substance Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Operations Manager in the Central Pharmacy Vault with CS tasks (e.g. Reconciliation reporting etc.).Assist with Pyxis return bin Pyxis CII Safe OR kits/trays and controlled substance tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pharmacist Extender - Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program or equivalent is required.
- CPhT certification
- Maryland Board of Pharmacy registration.
- Certification in aseptic sterile compounding (USP <797>) and hazardous drug handling.
- Successful completion of JHH Pharmacy pharmacology course within 1 year of hire.
- BLS certification if participating on Rapid Response or Code Teams.
- 1 year work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital pharmacy setting or successful completion of coursework in pharmacology plus 6 months of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital pharmacy setting.

- And more athttps:// Range: Minimum $23.35/hour - Maximum $38.54/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
