Design & Technology Technician – Sidcup

This is a full-time permanent role available for an immediate start ideal for someone with practical technical skills and experience supporting teaching staff in a busy school environment.

The Role

As a DT Technician you will provide practical support to teaching staff and students to facilitate high-quality DT lessons. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing materials tools and equipment for practical lessons across all areas of DT.

• Assisting teachers during practical sessions including supporting students with the safe use of machinery and tools.

• Maintaining organising and checking the condition of equipment workshops and resources.

• Supporting health and safety compliance in the workshops including the safe handling and storage of tools materials and chemicals.

• Assisting with project setups displays and departmental events.

• Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as required to ensure continuity of lessons.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a DT Technician workshop assistant or similar practical role.

• Knowledge of practical DT techniques tools and machinery.

• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.

• Organised reliable and proactive with excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
