The Opportunity

An established and forward-thinking independent school in Bicester is seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Maths Teacher to join its high-achieving academic faculty. We are looking for an inspiring classroom practitioner who can foster mathematical confidence logical reasoning and resilience enabling pupils to achieve exceptional outcomes and develop a lifelong appreciation of the subject.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 4 and 5

• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across pure mathematics statistics and mechanics (as appropriate)

• Prepare pupils for GCSE and A Level examinations securing strong academic outcomes

• Stretch and challenge high-achieving pupils while supporting those requiring additional guidance

• Promote problem-solving analytical thinking and independent learning skills

• Contribute to enrichment activities such as maths clubs competitions and preparation for UKMT challenges

• Support pupils with university applications including competitive courses in Mathematics Engineering Economics and related disciplines

• Play an active role in the wider academic and pastoral life of the school

As with all roles within the independent sector the successful candidate will contribute fully to the schools co-curricular and enrichment programme.

The Person

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• A strong academic background in Mathematics or a closely related discipline

• Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent experience within the independent sector)

• Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Mathematics

• The ability to explain complex concepts with clarity and enthusiasm

• Strong classroom management and organisational skills

• A willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities

• A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
