A large and well-established secondary school in the West Midlands is seeking a highly organised and experienced Premises Manager to take full responsibility for the operational management compliance and presentation of the school site. This is a senior site leadership role and is essential to ensuring that the learning environment remains safe secure compliant and fit for purpose at all times.
The school operates a busy campus with extensive facilities and the successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining operational excellence while supporting long-term site improvement planning.
Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school premises and grounds
Leading and supervising the site and cleaning teams including scheduling and performance management
Ensuring full statutory compliance across fire safety water hygiene asbestos management and electrical systems
Maintaining accurate compliance documentation and preparing for audits and inspections
Managing preventative maintenance programmes and coordinating reactive repairs
Overseeing contractor procurement induction and performance monitoring
Managing site security procedures including key holding and alarm systems
Supporting the coordination of school events lettings and examinations
Contributing to longer-term premises development and refurbishment planning
Proven experience in premises or site management ideally within an educational setting
Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance standards
Experience managing site staff and external contractors
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
A proactive and practical problem-solving mindset
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders
