Position SummaryWSHU is seeking a full-time Morning News Host to lead the local news presentation during Morning Edition. This role involves producing writing editing and anchoring local news segments and breaks. This is not an entry-level position. Were looking for someone comfortable hosting live broadcasts familiar with studio operations and capable of running their Duties & ResponsibilitiesHost live morning news breaks including newscasts weather underwriting and promotional with WSHU News Department to seamlessly integrate local and national write produce and edit stories for other timeslots and platforms including the studio board managing programs music promos and other in on-air fundraising efforts as a host pitch person or in other live and recorded on additional tasks as Skills Abilities & Other AttributesBachelors degree or equivalent experience (Journalism Mass Communication or related field preferred).Minimum 3 years of on-air experience and professional newsroom with public radio standards and voicing writing editing and production with radio equipment including microphones audio consoles and digital production/playout to work under pressure in a live broadcast environment with composure and in long-form public radio reporting is a plus but not Working ConditionsOccasionally attend events and meetings on weeknights and weekends.
