This is a permanent position to provide legal regulatory and advisory support for new and challenging initiatives of Chubb Life Hong Kong particularly in the areas of distribution channel support; product review; strategic partnership collaboration; general commercial contracting; and legal and governance advisory as well as the operational aspects of the Legal department. There will also be opportunities to be involved in projects and interact with various business functions at both the local and regional levels.

Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business units in providing legal support and advice concerning day-to-day business operations and other business initiatives.
- Draft review and provide technical/advisory support on legal and contractual documentation in connection with all departmental needs and ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
- Support documentation review drafting and approval of new products and marketing materials working closely with Compliance and Risk to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as alignment with the organizations risk appetite.
- Conduct horizon scanning of new laws and regulations that may potentially impact business operations initiatives or company matters and advise senior management teams accordingly.
- Support potential or actual contentious s matters involving third parties; including liaising with external counsel; identifying legal risks and managing costs.
- Otherwise support the Legal team in all other legal and advisory matters including participation in key projects with corporate exposure assistance with corporate governance matters at the board and committee levels legal research contracts management and other departmental tasks as designated from time to time.
- Assist with legal operations and contract administration including coordination of approvals execution and recordkeeping to support the effective delivery of legal services to the business.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports / updates as needed including tracking of key legal matters and initiatives.
Qualifications- Qualified HK lawyer (2 - 5 years PQE) holding a current HK practising certificate.
- Trained from a top-tier/reputable law firm from a common law jurisdiction
- Experience gained in insurance related financial institutions or financial services regulatory work is an advantage.
- Adaptable personable and able to thrive in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to handle a broad range of responsibilities from legal analysis and drafting to practical implementation and coordination.
- Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team and comfortable with end-to-end involvement in matters.
- Able to work effectively under pressure results-oriented and capable of delivering high-quality business-oriented solutions.
- Wellorganized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation processes and stakeholder communications efficiently.
- Experience in life insurance business and product documentation reviews and legal drafting is highly regarded.
- Good understanding of Hong Kong insurance law and Hong Kong insurance regulatory framework is an advantage.
- Strong technical and contractual drafting skills.
- Fast learner practical and able to adapt to changing business needs including supporting both advisory and operational aspects of legal work.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple matters documentation and timelines concurrently
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese languages.
