Overview:

The Technology Business Development team drives innovation and client engagement by connecting the firms engineering capabilities with business outcomes. We proactively identify and engage innovative technology companies fostering strategic partnerships across the startup Fintech and VC ecosystems. This role serves as connective tissue between Engineering and various business units maximizing technology-related opportunities and enhancing commercial value.

THE ENGINEERING DIVISION

Our team of engineers builds solutions to the most complex problems. We develop cutting-edge systems and processes that form the core of our key business and enable transactions to move in milliseconds. We provide real-time access to critical deal information and crunch billions of data points each day to inform firm-wide market insights and strategies. Team members have the opportunity to work at the forefront of technology innovation alongside industry leaders and make significant contributions to the field. Technology Business Development is a point of contact between Engineering and other parts of the firm helping leadership and business units to leverage the firms technological expertise and scale solutions across business units. You will create and develop strategic relationships across Engineering the firm and technology companies. You will play a key role in maximizing technology-related business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate strategic relationships across Engineering firm-wide business units and external technology companies.
  • Identify organizational gaps and common problems leveraging technology to provide solutions and derive commercial value.
  • Monitor technology trends FinTech Venture Capital and portfolio company landscapes to inform strategy and manage relationships.
  • Discover and integrate third-party technologies that address internal challenges.
  • Facilitate alignment between business units and IT ensuring priorities and initiatives are synchronized.
  • Provide insights on technology companies to support senior leadership interactions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for opportunities and company engagements.
  • Track team activities and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Support client-side relationships from an engineering perspective to enhance profitability.
  • Drive new revenue streams and strengthen client relationships through technological solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Technology Financial Services or Consulting.
  • Proficient technical acumen business operations and building strong professional relationships
  • 3-4 years in advisory investment or relationship/stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage CRM tools for data management and reporting
  • Proficiency in cloud-native data technologies and essential data principles
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skillswith a proven capacity to deliver presentations to senior executives.
  • Execution-focused results-oriented and proactive capable of managing multiple time-sensitive projects and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage complex tasks and mediating disputes with little oversight.
  • Adept at working cooperatively with diverse groups including technical experts and business-focused individuals.

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Toronto Ontario Canada-based position is $100000 - $150000. In addition you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
