Medical Underwriting expert (mfd)

Allianz Digital Health (ADH) is a Munich Germany based 100% subsidiary of Allianz SE aiming at the modernization and digitization of global Allianz health entities by providing technical excellence at scale. ADH offers these entities digital and data-based health services on a modern IT architecture to support their core insurance processes and health specific services alike. As a Medical Underwriting Expert you are the clinical architect driving the evolution of our digital health tools. Your mission is to take our existing medical underwriting assets to the next level by refining the algorithms and workflows that power our risk assessment. Working at the intersection of medicine technology and data you will collaborate closely with our Product Owner and the Data Team to ensure our medical logic is both clinically sound and data driven. Tasks

Strategic Evolution of Algorithms & Workflows

• Refining Logic: Lead the further development and clinical optimization of our existing medical underwriting algorithms.
• Product Roadmap: Work together with the Product Owner to prioritize medical enhancements and translate business requirements into medical logic.
• Scale & Accuracy: Ensure our underwriting engine remains state-of-the-art and adaptable for various international markets.

Data Synergy & Evidence-Based Logic

• Collaborative Analysis: Partner closely with our Data Team to validate medical assumptions against real-world data and refine our predictive models.
• Data-Driven Insights: Use clinical expertise to help the data team interpret health trends and incorporate these findings into our underwriting tools.

Medical Risk Assessment & Advisory

• Expert Judgment: Provide high-level medical expertise to assess complex health conditions and translate them into sustainable underwriting risks.
• Internal Authority: Act as the primary medical consultant for our product teams offering clarity on diagnoses symptoms and global medical developments.

Innovation & Quality Assurance

• Continuous QA: Regularly execute and oversee quality assurance processes for our tools to maintain the highest level of clinical integrity.
• E-Health Trends: Keep the team ahead of the curve by monitoring international e-health innovations and integrating new clinical standards into our systems.

Requirements

• Education: University degree in Human Medicine
• Experience: 3 years of professional experience in (strategy) consulting or within the Health Insurance sector (e.g. medical risk management product development or digital health).
• Cross-Functional Expert: You have a proven track record of working effectively with Product Owners and technical teams. You speak medicine and product fluently.
• Data Affinity: You have a strong understanding of medical data analysis. Experience with R Python or similar tools is a significant advantage as is the ability to communicate complex medical concepts to a data team.
• Analytical Strength: Excellent conceptual skills with the ability to think in logical trees and structured workflows.
• Independence: A proactive owner personality who thrives in a fast-paced environment with flat hierarchies.
• Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and German are required.
