How youll contribute

AHistology Technician who excels in this role:

• Performs procedures/ protocols in Cytology Histology and Pathology.

• Receives and assigns accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens and logs them into the AP computer system.

• Processes curettings and routine TUR and bone marrow specimens. Reports any abnormal or suspicious appearing specimens.

• Prepares sections of body tissue specimens by fixation decalcification dehydration and embedding for examination by a pathologist.

• Maintains work area in a safe aseptic and organized manner.

• Performs and monitors quality control calibration and corrective/ preventative maintenance on equipment instruments and tests.

• Participates in the evaluation of new techniques/ instruments/ equipment and in researching/ developing new
  procedures.
