Summary
The English Department at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an adjunct position starting August 1 2026. This is a non-tenure-track part-time teaching position for fall and/or spring semesters. We encourage candidates who wish to teach online and/or in person in Charleston South Carolina to apply.
Work Performed
The Adjunct in English will teach courses in the fall and/or spring semesters as needed based on enrollment; courses will be primarily developmental and/or first-year level English courses. This position carries no service or research requirements and it is paid on a per-credit-hour basis.
Qualifications
An MA or MAT in English Literature Creative Writing or Composition and Rhetoric is the minimum educational requirement. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching college-level composition and/or developmental English courses.
