Job Summary

Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for an array of admin duties as well as front line duties which include but are not limited to; overseeing the parking management system and parking meters processing citation adjudications managing the chapman university fleet vehicles processing driver authorization applications staffing special events and responding to general email inquiries from not only the positions personal email but the Parking Services and Transportation Services emails. This position also assists in supervising the Parking & Transportation officers by providing direction on daily activities conducting necessary training and providing technical support with enforcement equipment/processes. This position will work 8:00 5:00 Monday Friday with occasional evenings/weekends for events

Responsibilities
Assist in supervising the daily operations of the Parking & Transportation Officers by providing insight direction and technical assistance with enforcement assisting in equipment preparation & deployment and providing direction on daily/weekly focused directives. Overseeing the Parking management system which includes yearly setup of parking permits entering/managing on campus events processing applications for special permits monitoring LPR camera statuses and daily general maintenance/support. Includes monitoring space count system and adjusting counts as necessary. Includes overseeing the first level of citation appeals/ adjudication. Work with tech support on issue resolution. Overseeing the Chapman Transportation fleet by processing authorized driver applications receiving and scheduling vehicle requests from on campus departments monitoring vehicle maintenance (weekly/bi-weekly checks) and ensuring the return of the vehicles after use. Monitoring daily emails from personal email inbox as well as the Parking Services and Transportation Services emails and responding to incoming general inquiry calls from the on-campus and off-campus communities. Monitor website and update as necessary. Providing parking support for special events on campus which include but are not limited to Commencement Chapman Celebrates Homecoming and Orientation events. Comprehensive knowledge of concepts practices and procedures concerning parking and transportation operations; the ability to apply that knowledge in complex difficult and/or unprecedented situations. Manage the Genetec LPR Enforcement Camera System Provide lobby customer service support for visitors to the office. Process Special parking requests permits reserved spaces. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Parking & Transportation Services.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma with a minimum of one-year professional experience in parking/transportation operations Skill to adapt to changes within the organization Excellent organizational and communication skills Demonstrated ability to maintain composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork Computer skills in the use of word processing spreadsheet internet and e-mail applications preferably MS Office. Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment on matters of significance Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy and maintain the highest level of confidentiality Communications and interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with diverse constituents Technical skills to learn and use parking tools equipment and applications. LPR enforcement equipment from Smarter City Solutions Luke II Parking Meters Genetec Security Desk and Plate Scout. Analytical skills to observe assess and record parking conditions and escalate matters as needed Supervisory Experience minimum 3 years supervising employees and assets. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work with classified information. Must have an maintain in good standing a valid CA Drivers License and meet the university requirements to be authorized to drive university owned or operated vehicles private vehicles or vehicles for hire on behalf of the university.
