The Pool Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing daily operations of the pool and surrounding areas such as Out of Bounds and beverage cart associated areas to ensure a safe clean and exceptional guest experience. This role supervises pool attendants maintains compliance with safety and health regulation and upholds resort service standards. This role will also assist in other areas of Food and Beverage as needed.
The Pool Supervisor:
- Opens and closes shift or work area at scheduled times; ensuring outlet is fully prepared for operation as well as ensuring cleanliness and security of company assets
- Assists with administrative functions such as scheduling time and attendance records and performance reviews to ensure appropriate staffing levels and that employees are performing duties according to established service standards.
- Conducts daily shift meetings to ensure staff readiness.
- Enforces safety protocols and service standards.
- Assists in monitoring department budget to ensure efficient use of labor and other resources to achieve effective operation of the department.
- Monitors guest service satisfaction scores by conversing with and observing guests.
- Makes recommendations for improvement to maintains high service standards and a positive experience for guests.
- Resolves any guest issues to maintain positive relations.
- Inspects pool area Out of Bounds and carts daily to ensure a safe work environment.
- Inspects equipment is operating properly and that sufficient supplies are on hand in order to achieve smooth operation of the department.
- Ensures all employees are in appropriate uniforms understands all SOPs and have been trained in all areas of service conductive to their area.
- Tracks usage of cabanas and pool towels.
- Conducts regular inventory to ensure proper daily accountabilities for all areas: Pool Carts and Out of Bounds.
- Assists Facilities in conducting regular inspections of pool equipment and facilities.
- Ensures Pool area is safe clean and organized including cabanas and bathrooms while ensuring all safety guidelines and emergency procedures are followed.
- Documents incidents accidents and safety concerns.
- Submits maintenance work orders via FacilityOne as needed.
- Maintains proper certifications (CPR First Aid) as required.
Qualifications :
- This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds noise weather and smoke the severity of which depends upon customer volume and the exterior weather.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests as well as all levels of employees.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around the pool area Out of Bounds and Beverage Cart areas.
- Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
- Must be flexible to work varying shifts and times as needed including weekends and holidays.
- Indiana ABC Permit (Liquor License) required.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal State and Gaming regulations.
- Understanding of full-service resort operation.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to maintain bar operations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
This knowledge and these skills are typically acquired through a high school degree as well as Food and Beverage experience with a minimum of two years Food and Beverage supervisory experience or through a bachelors degree in Restaurant Management or related field.
