A Non-Skilled Home Care Worker provides basic personal care and household support to elderly disabled or recovering clients in their homes. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities to ensure clients comfort safety and well-being.
Assist clients with personal hygiene (bathing grooming oral care)
Help with dressing and undressing
Assist with mobility (walking transferring repositioning)
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs
Perform light housekeeping (laundry cleaning organizing)
Provide medication reminders (not administration unless trained/authorized)
Offer companionship and emotional support
Assist with toileting and incontinence care
Monitor and report changes in client condition to supervisor or nurse
Accompany clients to appointments or errands if required
No formal medical training required (on-the-job training provided)
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Basic knowledge of personal care and hygiene practices
Ability to follow care plans and instructions
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Physically able to lift move and assist clients
Background check may be required
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not always required)
