Distribution Center Supervisor

12 month 240 Work Days

Salary Range: $63792.00

Purpose Statement

The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehousing delivery services and distribution center operations; overseeing assigned personnel; providing operational support and information to stakeholders; and scheduling work assignments within established timeframes and standards.

Reports to: Director of Purchasing

Essential Functions

Collaborates with Purchasing for the purpose of developing order requirements for inventory and assisting with development of specifications and evaluation of products submitted by vendors.

Conducts physical inventories (e.g. annual inventory of supplies and equipment etc.) for the purpose of verifying stock identifying losses and managing order placement for inventory replacement.

Coordinates with district personnel internal and external customers for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.

Directs department functions (e.g. mail room sorting and distribution of surplus goods receipt of technology equipment etc.) for the purpose of prioritizing project deadlines ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

Inspects Distribution Center equipment for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe operating condition.

Manages Distribution Center for the purpose of providing required materials and services and providing a clean organized layout and safe work environment.

Monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity (e.g. ensuring the accurate allocation of expenses and tracking of assets etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate tracking assets generating related revenues expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.

Participates as a member or facilitator in meetings workshops and seminars for the purpose of identifying issues developing recommendations providing training and conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Performs personnel functions (e.g. training scheduling hiring evaluating supervising etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives within budget.

Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. reports delivery schedules order requirements for inventory surplus records memos letters procedures manuals etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities providing written reference and/or conveying information.

Procures equipment supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.

Receives and stocks nonstock and stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications quantity and quality of orders are all correct and maintaining required inventory levels.

Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns or school needs.

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform single technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: using materials handling equipment including operating forklifts pallet jacks hand trucks etc; operating standard office equipment; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: materials handling and storage.

ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups: meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; and working as part of a team.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department large work unit and/or across several small work units; utilization of resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions. Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some climbing and balancing frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting 25% walking and 35% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
