About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Locum Practice Nurse to join a busy GP practice in Portsmouth. This role offers ad-hoc shifts and block bookings perfect for nurses looking to work flexibly while gaining experience across a range of primary care services.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care support routine and specialist clinics and assist with immunisations chronic disease management and minor procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive team while maintaining control of your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe and effective care to patients in line with practice protocols
Conduct routine health checks immunisations and screening programs
Manage wound care dressings and chronic disease monitoring
Support vaccination and immunisation clinics (flu COVID-19 travel vaccines)
Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication reviews
Maintain accurate patient records using EMIS Web
Work collaboratively with GPs healthcare assistants and administrative staff

Requirements

Registered Nurse (NMC) with current registration
Experience working in General Practice or primary care preferred
Confident using EMIS Web or similar patient record systems
Strong clinical organisational and communication skills
Flexible professional and reliable approach
