Shifts: 10-hour day shifts
Contract Type: Locum Ad-hoc Dates & Block Bookings Available
Rate: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to support a well-established GP surgery in Plymouth. This opportunity offers flexible working with both ad-hoc shifts and block bookings available ideal for ACPs seeking consistency or flexibility.
The successful candidate will work autonomously managing patients presenting with minor illness and acute primary care presentations supporting the practice team and improving patient access to high-quality care.
You will be using EMIS Web for all consultations and clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Independently assess diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illness and acute conditions
Provide safe effective and evidence-based clinical care
Prescribe medications independently in line with national and local guidelines
Manage same-day acute appointments and minor illness clinics
Refer patients appropriately to GPs secondary care or community services when required
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web
Work collaboratively with GPs nurses and the wider primary care team
Deliver patient-centred care while working autonomously within scope of practice
Requirements
Essential:
Registered Nurse (NMC) Paramedic (HCPC) or Allied Health Professional
MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Level 7) or equivalent
Independent Prescriber (V300)
Experience working autonomously in GP surgeries or primary care
Confident using EMIS Web
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Desirable:
Experience working as an ACP in General Practice
Minor Illness qualification or extensive minor illness experience
Experience managing same-day acute clinics
