Job Summary
1. Farmer Training & Support
Organize and deliver training sessions for farmers on GAP agroforestry pest and disease management and post-harvest handling.
Support farmers in adopting climate-smart and sustainable agricultural practices.
Promote farmer awareness on child labor prevention gender inclusion and environmental stewardship.
2. Sustainability Program Implementation
Assist in the implementation of sustainability and certification standards (Fairtrade Rainforest Alliance or company-specific programs).
Monitor farmer compliance with sustainability and regulatory frameworks such as EUDR.
Distribute and monitor the use of inputs such as seedlings shade trees and personal protective equipment (PPE).
3. Data Collection & Traceability
Register farmers into digital systems and conduct polygon mapping of Soya farms.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry for farmer profiles and production records.
Support internal audits verifications and traceability checks.
4. Community Engagement
Act as the companys representative at community level and maintain positive relationships with farmer groups and cooperatives.
Support implementation of livelihood youth and women empowerment initiatives in cashew-growing areas.
Report on challenges faced by farmers and recommend solutions to supervisors.
5. Reporting & Feedback
Prepare and submit timely field reports including farmer training attendance compliance status and community feedback.
Highlight risks challenges and success stories from the field to inform program improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Agriculture Rural Development Environmental Science or related field.
- At least 23 years of field experience in Soya or other agricultural value chains.
- Experience in training farmers and implementing sustainability programs preferred.
- Knowledge of certification standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. EUDR) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in digital data collection tools (ODK Kobo FarmForce etc.) and MS Office applications.
Candidate Preferred Location (Any of): Benue Kaduna Niger Taraba or Plateau States
