ACLU of Georgia welcomes interns each spring summer and fall across legal policy communications community engagement and voter access teams. We accept students at all levels including high school undergraduate graduate and post-graduate.
We are currently accepting applications for the Summer 2026 term running approximately May 27 through August 14 2026. Dates may vary based on department needs and academic schedules. Schedules will be coordinated directly with each interns supervisor.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so early submission is encouraged. The priority deadline is March 20 2026. Due to the expected volume of applications we may close the posting earlier if needed.
All applicants must submit a resume. Some candidates may be asked to provide additional materials. This semesters internship is offered for academic credit only.
Voter Access Project (Voter Rights)
Interns in this position will gain valuable experience in policy research and community engagement work specific to voting rights and voter access in Georgia. Interns will help with research on Georgias election laws challenges faced by Georgia voters and data around recent elections. They will also analyze policies and draft memos on proposed legislation and existing Georgia laws. Interns may help monitor legislative hearings and other governmental meetings to take detailed notes. Interns will assist with the Local Election Advocates and Defenders (LEAD) program by drafting volunteer newsletters training presentations and other items. This position requires in-person work though there is some flexibility for remote tasks. Applicants should have strong research and writing skills a high attention to detail and an interest in civil liberties a specific interest in voting rights in preferred.
