Job Title: UX Researcher (Retail / E-Commerce)
Location: Bolingbrook IL60440 (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $70.00 per hour
Position Overview
A leading national retail organization is seeking an experienced UX Researcher to drive user-centered insights across digital web and mobile platforms. This role will ensure that digital experiences are intuitive engaging and informed by meaningful user research.
The UX Researcher will partner closely with product managers product owners designers analysts and engineering teams to translate user behavior into actionable insights that influence product strategy and design decisions.
Responsibilities
Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies including usability testing interviews diary studies surveys and concept testing
Lead end-to-end research initiatives from scoping to synthesis and presentation
Translate research findings into clear actionable recommendations that shape product and design direction
Integrate user feedback throughout the full product development lifecycle
Communicate insights through compelling storytelling personas journey maps and stakeholder presentations
Present findings in a way that promotes clarity alignment and informed decision-making
Independently manage multiple research projects while aligning with business objectives and timelines
Additional Responsibilities
Contribute to UX research best practices and documentation standards
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and ideation sessions using research insights
Maintain and optimize research tools and processes
Collaborate with product design analytics and optimization teams in agile environments
Stay informed on emerging UX methodologies tools and industry trends
Support initiatives focused on personalization loyalty programs and omnichannel experiences
Provide guidance or mentorship to junior researchers when applicable
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction Psychology Anthropology Design or related field
5 years of UX research experience within digital product environments
Experience in retail e-commerce or mobile app research preferred
Proven ability to independently scope and lead research projects end-to-end
Strong expertise in usability testing qualitative interviews survey design and research synthesis
Experience with tools such as Figma UserTesting Dscout Dovetail Marvin or similar platforms
Excellent written verbal and visual communication skills
Experience collaborating in agile cross-functional product teams
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
