Job Duties : Oncology Educator
Provide education and support people affected by cancer while helping them to better understand and manage their condition. Encourage self-management that promotes the achievement of individualized behavioral and treatment goals that optimize health outcomes in persons with cancer across the health care continuum. Provide educational opportunities to the community about cancer screening and prevention through outreach activities.
Required Qualifications: Oncology Educator
- Minimum of two years clinical experience in Oncology required.
- Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) required
- Excellent teaching and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative teamwork and work with minimal direction required.
- Public speaking ability required.
- Basic knowledge in office computer tools such as Microsoft Office including PowerPoint Word and Outlook required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications: Oncology Educator
- Experience in multiple areas of Oncology (inpatient and ambulatory) preferred.
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or closely related field degree preferred.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license (if applicable). Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) preferred.
