Job Summary
Job Description:
A Senior Substation Engineerleads the design technical execution and commissioning of high-voltage (HV/EHV) substations ensuring compliance with IEEE/IEC standards. Responsibilities include developing substation layouts protection schemes grounding and relay settings while mentoring junior staff and managing project budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering:Produce detailed engineering packages including single-line diagrams physical layouts elevation grounding conduit and lightning protection.
- Technical Leadership:Act as the technical lead for complex projects overseeing design reviews quality control (QC) and adherence to standards.
- Protection & Control:Develop schematic drawings wiring diagrams panel GA drawings and SCADA/communication protocols.
- Equipment Specification:Prepare specifications for major apparatus (transformers switchgear circuit breakers) and support procurement.
- Project Coordination:Liaise with clients vendors and multi-disciplinary teams (civil/structural).
- Mentorship:Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:610 years of experience in high-voltage substation design.
- Technical Expertise:Proficiency in substation design software and understanding of IEC IEEE and ANSI standards.
- Soft Skills:Strong analytical leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with NERC standards (MOD/PRC).
- Field experience in testing and commissioning.
