Job Summary

St. Michael School is seeking a principal to lead our 200 Pre-K 8th grade students effective with the 2026-2027 school year. As the administrative head the principal has chief responsibility for the effective operation of the school following the policies and guidelines established by the Office of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Duties include but are not limited to:

Professional development and leadership of faculty and staff;
Serve as the primary school representative to parents Leadership Council the Parish at large and the community;
Responsible for building and reinforcing a strong school culture through faith-based leadership;
Oversee curriculum development;
Provide input in the budgeting process and the financial management of the school;
Leads marketing and outreach

Summary of Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this position a candidate must:

Be a Catholic in good standing;
Possess exceptional leadership communication interpersonal and relationship-building skills;
Exhibit a passion for student achievement and academic excellence
Be skilled at hiring training and retaining teachers and staff with a passion for building and developing a culture of spirituality shared goals enthusiasm and teamwork;
Possess or working towards a valid administrators license;
While qualified candidates of varying levels of experience will be considered the ideal candidate will be seasoned experienced and comfortable in positions of leadership that require confident consistent reasoned and decisive judgment.
