ShippingReceiving Associate

• Drive forklift and maintain necessary certification
• Ensure completion of all shipping documents including: bills of lading packing slips shipping labels export documents and processing of shipments through ERP system
• Determine the most economical modes of transportation such as LTL volume LTL truckload partial truckload
• Maximize shipping efficiency through consolidation of shipments
• Verify packing slips against received materials and accurately record receipts in the ERP system
• Maintain accurate and updated database of shipping weights
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipments by working with manufacturing when shortages or discrepancies are discovered
• Work with Customer Service department to resolve late orders shortages expedited requests claims for freight damage and freight estimates
• Resolve shipping delays due to customer requests
• Perform daily forklift safety inspections using a standardized checklist to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition before use

• 2 years of forklift experience required
• Experience in the transportation industry
• Current or ability to obtain forklift certification
• Ability to use basic computer software such as spreadsheets databases word processing applications email and Internet
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and make decisions about shipping methods
• Understanding of shipping logistics and freight processes
• Valid Drivers License
