We have an immediate rewarding career opportunity for an Intake Specialist to join our great team at Ravensview part of Homewood Health the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada.

As our Intake Specialist you will follow through on issues pertaining to referrals registration admission and our clinical programs. You will also manage wait lists and process information pertaining to funding arrangements clinical reviews and information needs. Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm PST.

Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based medically-led inpatient services for first responders military veterans executives & professionals adults and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians psychiatrists counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals.

As an Intake Specialist you will be an integral part of a collaborative (Interdisciplinary) team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What youll be doing

  • Verify information and confirm accommodation requests and financial information
  • Follow-up with patients employers to confirm or resolve coverage issues as needed
  • Screen referral information consulting with Manager for complex triage
  • Initiate alternate community supports and suggest other resources when appropriate
  • Advise clients and callers of our admission policies and respond to inquiries and program specific questions
  • Maintain and manage wait lists with respect to program type accommodation and cancellations
  • Collaborate with Manager admitting staff and division managers to facilitate admissions transfers and/or manage risk issues according to policy procedure and protocols
  • Ensure pre-admission requirements as well as policies and procedures are followed
  • Inform referral information to triage according to office protocols
  • Collaborate with the triage committee when patient information presents as complex
  • Assist Manager with Referral to Clinics and Counselling Services

What were looking for:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Services or equivalent
  • 2 years prior experience with healthcare administration health records or as a medical officer
  • Mental health and/or addictions experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Self-starter critical thinker problem solver reliable
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office applications and database management as well as interest and willingness to learn new programs

Homewood Health promotes a fair and competitive compensation model. Pay rates are tailored to reflect differences in operating environments and job requirements. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function organizational tenure experience qualifications or premium skills external competitiveness internal comparability geography and work performance. The salary range for this role $ 49638 - $ 62054.
