Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator the Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Eagles Nest Youth Program. Working collaboratively with a team of Project Coordinators this position ensures the effective implementation of culturally responsive programming grounded in the Medicine Wheel teachings. The role includes responsibility for youth recruitment and selection program facilitation case management and community partnership coordination. The Project Coordinator supports up to 60 First Nations youth (ages 1630) annually through three four-month intakes focused on physical mental emotional and spiritual development while maintaining a safe structured and inclusive program environment.


Key Responsibilities


Program Delivery & Youth Support

  • Collaborate with a team of Project Coordinators to ensure participant success and program excellence.
  • Recruit and select up to 30 youth per intake using inclusive and culturally responsive strategies.
  • Develop and implement participant codes of conduct.
  • Create and maintain individualized youth portfolios and case management files.
  • Monitor and support participant progress throughout the program.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and program documentation.
  • Ensure a safe respectful and productive environment for all participants.


Program Planning & Coordination

  • Plan and implement monthly activity calendars and daily agendas aligned with program objectives.
  • Identify and coordinate resources for workshops presentations cultural activities and special events.
  • Coordinate daily nutrition programming and related logistics.
  • Submit financial documentation including purchase orders cheque requisitions and invoices in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Complete activity and funding reports in compliance with funding agreements.


Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Liaise with community agencies stakeholders Elders and youth-serving organizations.
  • Maintain and update a resource database of career development education and social programming opportunities for First Nations youth.
  • Communicate program progress emerging needs and outcomes to the Program Manager.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Social Services Education Indigenous Studies) or a combination of relevant education and experience working with First Nations youth.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation public speaking and youth engagement.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and strengths of First Nations youth and culturally informed approaches to support.
  • Excellent written verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and database systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license and able to provide a clear drivers abstract.
  • Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Clear Child Abuse Registry Check.
