Job Summary

JYSK is seeking a District Manager to join our successful operations management team on a permanent full-time basis. 

Reporting directly to the Retail Manager Trainee the successful candidate will be responsible for their own district which will include a number of JYSK stores. They will be direct Manager to all Store Managers within their designated district and will be in charge of ensuring that they achieve their district goals.

Working as a District Manager at JYSK means that you will spend around four days per week out visiting your stores ensuring that they are ready for our customers. A large part of your job will also mean that you will be visible from a distance to your teams through phone email etc.

You will also work with campaigns budgets employee trainings and importantly you will secure a strong talent pipeline in the district. We always strive to have the best and strongest teams in the stores and therefore your role as District Manager also means that you will be responsible to motivate develop and involve your employees every single day.

This role is based out of Southern Ontario. 

Sales Management

  • Ownership of the district including engagement in holding managers accountable for business results.
  • Sets strategies sales goals and targets for the district and creates a communication plan to present to teams at GSMs so the team understands connection between store financial success and bonus programs.
  • Leads manages and ensures the maximization of sales growth and productivity in the district.
  • Ensures district-wide customer satisfaction by promoting and holding others accountable for customer service excellence. 

Operational Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct supervision coaching and development of the store managers in the district.
  • Partners with leadership team to formulate and execute an internal colleague succession plan to support business growth.
  • Ensures the hiring and onboarding processes are executed in the store and is involved in recruitment activities.
  • Ownership of the performance evaluation process in the district including timely delivery ensuring action plans are in place and follows up on development of colleagues.
  • Partners with managers to analyze and control labour and expense costs in the district. 
  • Has a complete understanding of all company policies and procedures related to this position.
  • Overall accountability for general administration of the district and provides ongoing support to direct reports.
  • Ownership of payroll administration and maintains direct reports employee files.
  • Attractive stores to be performed in district as per JYSK schedule and guidelines.
  • Store visits in the district to be conducted on regular basis.

Loss Prevention and Health & Safety

  • Promotes and maintains a safe working environment follows all company protocols for safety and is required to take ownership for rectifying deficiencies.
  • Accountable for the loss prevention processes in the district including participation in prevention strategies and investigations.
  • Proactively models and ensures teams understanding of and adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Models and ensures team properly secures company assets and physical inventory and follows all loss prevention and key control procedures in order to reduce shrink.

Compensation: Generally the hiring range for this position is $70000 to $90000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills experience internal and market equity.

 


Qualifications :

  • Minimum 2 years in a retail District Manager Role or equivalent overseeing multi unit locations.
  • Strong leadership decision-making and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of financial management budgeting and performance metrics.
  • Strong organizational verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Is adaptable and able to work in an environment with changing priorities
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word PowerPoint)
  • Willing to travel - Valid drivers license required

Additional Information :

Physical demands that are required include mobility (walking standing climbing bending etc.) and manual material handling (lifting pushing pulling carrying etc.). Movement of product by use of ladders and stock pickers is required.
