Job Summary
Air Liquide Laboratories is one of the main R&D centers of the Air Liquide group. Its goal is to develop new and innovative solutions for the entire Air Liquide group. Air Liquide Laboratories is located at Innovation Campus Tokyo inaugurated in March 2019. The new facility promotes collaboration with customers start-up companies and academic partners. It gathers researchers and workers from all around the world in order to promote a multicultural work environment and skills diversity. The Campus develops the latest thin film deposition and etching technologies for applications in electronics batteries and fuel cells as well as strategies and solutions for the entire supply chain production purification storage transportation and distribution of low carbon hydrogen.
Evaluation of novel organometallic or silicon-based precursors in ALD/CVD thin film processing and analysis of the films.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW
We are seeking a skilled process engineer with experience in thin film deposition of organometallic and/or silicon-based compounds and thin film analyses.
The main responsibilities will be:
Specialist in ALD/CVD of thin films with organometallic and silicon-based compounds
Specialist in thin-film analyses using ellipsometry XPS SEM AFM FT-IR etc and interpretation
Proactively maintain ALD/CVD deposition tools
Timely and concise reporting (R&D reports patent applications internal meetings customer meetings etc.)
Actively sustain interactions within AL group and customers support R&D and AL reputation in the field.
Fully work autonomously
Lead and organize the tasks within WPs/project
Can face challenging problems
Mentor scientists
Join the safety activities in ALL/Innovation Campus Tokyo
Being experienced in handling pyrophoric toxic and combustible materials is a strong plus; the process engineer would need to shortly learn if not experienced
Strong experience in a relevant private R&D lab is a prerequisite

Strictly required: Master/PhD degree with relevant and very significant experience
Interpersonal skills:
Effective team player communication skills working in an international environment
Languages: English business level required. E-mail exchanges and meetings are held in English.
Japanese and/or Mandarin: Conversation level is a plus.
