AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Resident Engineer (Highway / Interstate) with a proven track record in the Construction Engineering and Management industry. Based in Chicago IL this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects.
In this role you will support the Resident Engineer by providing technical assistance mentoring junior staff and helping ensure project success through effective oversight of field activities coordination with contractors maintaining client relationships and supporting adherence to budget and schedule requirements.
Working as part of a consultant team you will contribute to rewarding roadway and bridge construction projects. Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Delivery and Support: Support the safe on-time on-budget and high-quality delivery of projects. Assist with day-to-day project activities from pre-construction through closeout.
Contract Compliance and Documentation: Assist in verifying and documenting contract compliance reviewing project drawings and specifications and providing recommendations to the client. Review and help route project deliverables including submittals RFIs work plans schedules and meeting minutes.
Coordination and Communication: Assist in coordinating contractors work activities support and participate in internal and external project meetings and contribute to the contractor invoice review process. Help communicate project status to clients and stakeholders.
Closeout and Reporting: Support project closeout activities including documentation warranties O&Ms punch lists and final change management and invoicing documentation. Maintain logs reports and other documentation required for project reporting.
Quality Assurance and Client Interaction: Assist with Quality Assurance inspections in coordination with construction contractors. Support client interaction and coordination among internal and external project stakeholders.
Mitigating and Resolving Construction Issues: Proactively identify potential construction issues and assist in developing solutions to minimize delays rework and impacts to schedule or budget while meeting client expectations.
Qualifications :
Minimum requirements
- BA/BS 4 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- MVR is required
Preferred Requirements:
- 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalent of experience and/or education
- Prior IDOT and Tollway experience
- IL PE is preferred
