Job Summary

Introduction

A well-established accounting and auditing firm is seeking a confident and driven Chartered Accountant or Senior SAIPA/AGA qualified Accountant to manage the accounting function and oversee SAIPA trainees. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director and Associate Director and will be responsible for independently managing an accounting client portfolio while ensuring full statutory and tax compliance.

Requirements include (but are not limited to):

Newly qualified CA(SA) (or awaiting APC results) or Senior SAIPA/AGA qualified Accountant
13 years post-articles experience in both audit and accounting (not audit only)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles ISA GAAP Tax Acts and Companies Act
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office; strong leadership ability
Own reliable vehicle; Afrikaans home language preferred
Manage and review a portfolio of accounting clients ensuring compliance with Tax Acts Companies Act and statutory requirements
Supervise mentor and review the work of SAIPA accountants and trainees ensuring quality control and deadline management
Oversee monthly accounting processes management accounts VAT payroll income and pro Compile and review financial statements ensure CIPC and statutory compliance and support budgeting and financial reporting processes provisional tax submissions and SARS queries
Manage client relationships identify risks improve processes and support business development initiatives
