Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Center

Our team as part of the continued growth of our business is looking for a SeniorElectrical Engineercapable of leading and developing teams to complete both small and large projects. These projects span a diverse range of construction sectors including among others Industrial Healthcare Education Leisure Aviation Commercial and Defense. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically designing custom solutions mentoring mid-level and junior staff and developing calculations drawings reports and specifications for the electrical design work on exciting and complex projects.

In the role you will be expected to: 

• Complete Electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.

• Make major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff.

• Plan design work calculates costs and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.

• Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural structural mechanical technology clerical and equipment suppliers. 

• Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files. 

• Acts as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members. 

• Attends project meetings or when appropriate delegates activities. 

• Meets with clients prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations. 

• Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects. 

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or industrial engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program. 

• At least 8 -10 years of experience in a similar role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 

• Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

• Team management/coordination experience. 

• Good knowledge ininternational regulations and standards (NFPA BS IEC etc). 

• Proficiency in engineering calculation software for electrical discipline (CANECO ETAP etc). 

• The candidate must have experience in the design and calculation of medium and low voltage (MV/LV) electrical installations in all types of buildings (tertiary sector hospitals airports etc.) and infrastructures. Experience in construction works and other types of systems such as CCTV fire detection security and access control will also be valued.

• The candidate shall possess substantial expertise in the electrical design and calculation of power systems for data centers (DC) including medium and low voltage distribution redundancy strategies and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Formal training or certification in Uptime Institute standards (Tier Classification System Operational Sustainability or Accredited Tier Designer/ Specialist programs) will be considered a strong asset.
