Sr. Internal Technical Advisor Eurofins Rapid Microbiology Laboratories

The Senior Internal Advisor works in conjunction with LE President & Business Unit Managers to ensure top tier technical and scientific services are being offered. Utilize technical expertise to develop new metrics for the laboratories. This position is an internal support role only to help leaders drive operational efficiency. 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Create training content
• Train internal operational staff and leaders
• Create and draft laboratory standard operating procedures
• Audit laboratory procedures and operations
• Develop key metrics for the laboratories to measure productivity and efficiencies and implement processes to monitor across the network.
• Develop new microbiological methods to serve key industries
• Assist laboratory operations on implementation of new microbiological methods
• Gain proficiency in laboratory information management systems
• Work closely with research and development teams
• Evaluate laboratory operations to identify potential safety risks
• Incorporate LEAN practice flow into microbiology laboratories
• Assist laboratories with operational support and continuous improvement
• Technical expert on enumeration and core pathogen detection/strain differentiation platforms such as PCR ELISA as well as confirmation processes
• Assist in training initiatives at both corporate and lab specific level
• Advise and assist US Food labs on technical issues related to projects.
• Identify unique capabilities within Food Business Unit operations and facilitate the distribution of those capabilities throughout company
• Work with lab operations to improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units to facilitate the resolution of technical issues.
• Work closely with corporate quality on training initiatives CAPA/RCA training and assistance for the laboratories
• Act as a liaison to strengthen ties between Eurofins US operations and worldwide operations
• Work with quality to develop training metrics and materials for new and existing employees and annual reverification training
• Gain proficiency in laboratory accreditation services
• Responsible for the professional development and mentoring of Business Unit Managers
• Provide the necessary planning organization and control to meet the goals of the company
• Enable Business Unit Managers to control costs of their laboratories within the established company guidelines along with analyzing monthly laboratory KPIs
• Assist laboratories with operational support and continuous improvement
• Assessment technical expert researching and vetting new products and services from microbiology vendors.

Qualifications :

• BS in Science Microbiology or related field 
• MS or PhD in Science Microbiology or related field is preferred.  
• 8-10 years of applicable and progressively expanded laboratory experience.
• Must be able to organize and lead professional personnel in a manner that reflects corporate goals and objectives
• Must be able to schedule workflow to optimize laboratory productivity and client satisfaction in a cost-effective manner
• Prior experience in lab procedures data analysis computer operations mathematics and technical/busines writing required
• Fluency in verbal and written communication in English required
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Responsive problem solver and action required
• Ability to think critically and solve problems.
• Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
