About the Role:

Enterprise Integration Transformation ESB to Microservices

We are looking for a high-caliber Solution Architect with Product Owner capabilities to lead a strategic transformation initiative: migrating a legacy Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) into a modern scalable microservice architecture.

This is not just an architecture role. This is a transformation leadership position.

You will combine hands-on architectural expertise with product ownership discipline guiding a team of 6 experienced developers through a complex modernization journey. You will design the future-state architecture structure delivery and ensure business and technical alignment throughout the migration.

You will act as the technical authority the backlog owner and the orchestrator of a clean scalable containerized architecture built with Java and Spring Boot.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Leadership:
Design and drive the migration from ESB to a domain-driven microservice architecture. Define integration patterns service boundaries API contracts and infrastructure principles.
Technical Vision & Governance:
Ensure architectural consistency scalability security and performance. Make pragmatic high-quality technical decisions aligned with long-term maintainability.
Requirement Translation:
Translate architectural and integration concepts into clear Epics and User Stories enabling developers to execute efficiently and autonomously.
Backlog Ownership & Prioritization:
Own structure and prioritize the transformation backlog in alignment with technical dependencies and business impact.
Sprint Planning & Execution:
Lead sprint planning from a technical standpoint ensuring clarity of scope acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
Containerized Architecture Enablement:
Drive Docker-based deployments and container-first design principles. Ensure services are designed for orchestration and CI/CD readiness.
Integration Patterns & Messaging:
Define integration strategies between microservices legacy systems and external partners. Optional but highly valued: knowledge of Apache Camel and enterprise integration patterns.
Stakeholder Alignment:
Act as the technical bridge between engineering infrastructure and business stakeholders ensuring expectations scope and outcomes remain aligned.
Team Enablement:
Work closely with a team of 6 developers providing technical guidance removing blockers and fostering engineering excellence.
Release & Migration Planning:
Plan incremental migration waves from ESB to microservices minimizing risk and ensuring production stability.
Continuous Improvement:
Establish best practices in code quality architecture documentation DevOps collaboration and agile delivery processes.

Must-have Skills and Experience:

Strong Java Expertise:
Deep hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise-grade backend systems.
Microservice Architecture Know-How:
Proven experience designing distributed systems RESTful APIs and scalable service-oriented architectures.
Containerization:
Solid understanding of Docker and containerized deployment models.
Product Ownership Experience:
Experience or willingness for writing structured user stories managing backlogs and working within Scrum or similar agile frameworks.
Enterprise Integration Experience:
Experience working with ESBs integration layers or system modernization initiatives.
Architectural Thinking:
Ability to design systems with scalability observability resilience and maintainability in mind.
Organizational Excellence:
Highly structured proactive and capable of managing multiple technical streams simultaneously.
Communication Skills:
Strong communicator able to explain complex architectural concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Language Skills:
Fluent in English.

Experience with Apache Camel and enterprise integration patterns
Experience in large-scale modernization programs
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments
Experience with event-driven architectures
