In the context of NYUs launch of its Initiative in Engineering Health NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position with the earliest start date of September 1 2026. Depending on the activities of the successful candidate the position will be associated with one or more departments within the Tandon School of Engineering for example the Department of Biomedical Engineering or the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
The candidates applying for the Engineering Health position are expected to establish research programs with strong connection to health such as immune cardiometabolic gut and microbiome health or health monitoring. Applicants in the field of plant health as it relates to agriculture diet and human health are also encouraged. Applicants from experimental or computational backgrounds are equally welcome.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering chemical engineering materials science biological chemistry chemical biology biology or microbiology or a related discipline. A distinguished record of scholarship leadership curricular innovation entrepreneurship and an excellent funding record is desired from mid-level candidates while junior candidates must demonstrate clear potential to achieve the same. All candidates must demonstrate or show potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
