Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Adult Learning Tutor on a 2-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 16.39 - 21.43 per hour

Summary:

As an Adult Learning Tutor you will play a pivotal role in maximizing adult participation in education across West Sussex. This specialist role focuses on the development and delivery of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programmes. You will work within the Adult Learning team to empower residentsparticularly the most vulnerableto achieve their potential through five key outcomes: Learning for Work Life Families Health and Wellbeing and Personal Interest.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of engaging ESOL programmes tailored to the diverse needs of the West Sussex community.
  • Ensure all courses align with the councils five inter-related learning outcomes (Work Life Families Health and Enrichment).
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and ESFA funding rules to ensure Good or Outstanding provision.
  • Act as an ambassador for Adult Learning promoting the benefits of education to residents in various venues across the county.

      Qualifications:

      • A recognized Level 4 or 5 teaching qualification (e.g. DTLLS Cert Ed PGCE or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).
      • A specialist ESOL teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA Trinity TESOL or Level 5 ESOL Subject Specialism).
      • Qualification in assessment (e.g. A1/TAQA) to support the delivery of accredited units.

      Essentials:

      • Proven track record of delivering successful ESOL programmes to diverse groups of adult learners.
      • Demonstrable experience in managing the administrative and pedagogical requirements of accredited qualifications.
      • Experience in supporting learners with barriers to education including refugees asylum seekers or those with low digital/literacy skills.
      • In-depth knowledge of ESFA audit requirements and Ofsted inspection criteria for Adult Community Education.
      • Understanding of how to create schemes of work and lesson plans that balance functional language skills with personal wellbeing.

      Please note:

      • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
      • You should have right to work in U.K
      • This role requires a Basic DBS
